The 2nd Annual Hockey Weekend at the BH!

We had so much fun last year, we just had to do it again! The Darlings, Bordeaus and Hunds were all on board and joined in for another fun filled weekend affair.

The kids started a new activity this weekend that lasted all summer long...Frog Catching! Maddie and Gret and Reece captured Napleon aka Toady and he became the weekend's mascot. They made him his own habitat and even found him bugs to eat.
There was lots of fishing. Even Ryan and Avery got in on the fishing fun. Mike Hund learned that he was great at catching them...just not so good at getting them off the hook! Beckie Hund managed to tangle a few lines...and let the BIG one get away. Well, not get away all togeher, since it ended up on Tommy's line. It was HUGE! Way to go, Tommy. Oh, and don't think for a minute that Beckie won't be holding a grudge until next year!

Saturday was nice and warm and we got to go to the big lake and have a baseball game and water fight! The kids took on the grown ups and gave us a run for our money.
In the end, there was lots of music played, especially "All Summer Long" by Kid Rock, lots of good foood eaten, lots of beer drank and lots of wood cut. Those hockey boys are always ready to do some hard labor for us and we appreciate it!

Before the weekend ended we had the historic maiden voyage of the SSMystery Boat. After our cabin had been built, one day we noticed a row boat that was left on our property. We asked around and no one claimed it as their own, hence the name Mystery boat. We aren't sure where it came from and until this weekend, we didn't know if she was sea worthy. Well, maties, she is! Tommy, Dan and the Bordeau boys took the plunge and with one oar and one shovel (yes, you can take the boys out of Inkster but not Inkster out of the boys) they paddled around enough to know that with a little TLC, we could have another boat option at the Brown House. Who knows...maybe by the 3rd Annual Hockey Weekend, we might even have a second oar!
