Easter '08 at the BH

With the boys off of school for "Spring Break" we headed up to the Brown House on Friday. Our plan was to have a turkey Easter dinner with Lu, Dorena and Lisa on Saturday, and then have a small ham by ourselves on Sunday. But since we arrived early enough on Friday, we put the ham in the oven then and ate it all weekend long. There wasn't too much snow on the drive up, but per usual, our little peninsula still had plenty to play in. Our driveway track that we made back in January was iced over and very fast which made sledding a blast! On Friday night, we colored eggs and the boys loved drawing on them with the "magic crayon" before dipping them and watching their creations emerge.

Saturday late afternoon we headed to Lu's and saw tons of deer on the way. 2 even very close up, which was very cool. Dinner was great and we celebrated with wine and champagne and played a game with Gret's stuffed Peep where we took turns throwing and catching him and if you missed you had to go into the "soup". The boys loved it and everyone got in on the game, even Grandma and Grandpa, which the boys loved, too.

The boys woke us up Sunday morning with the exciting news that the Easter Bunny had come! He left a note telling them they each had 20 eggs to find and one of them, the golden egg, had a note in it telling them where to find their basket. Reece found his first and was so excited by the Pokemon book and cards that he was literally shaking! When Gret found his basket, his stuffed Pikachu quickly became the toy you couldn't live without. The note Gret had left for the Easter bunny told him they liked candy and Pokemon and wouldn't you know it....the bunny must have known because he was spot on!

The rest of Easter day was spent lounging around, playing Pokemon and eating ham. It was a great trip full of fun and relaxation.
