Hockey Weekend at the BH!

Team Brokeback wins!














*This was the first post I wrote last summer, but never published, since I was still figuring out the site. Now that I've got it figured out, I wanted to post it, even if the time frame is off. :)


We just returned from our first Hockey weekend at the BH. Friday evening, the Bordeau's arrived, followed a few hours later by the Darlings. At almost 2 am, bringing up the rear, with speeding ticket in hand, were the Hunds. We had a fire going and the kids had done some smores before conking out. T.J. was up the latest pulling an "all nighter", while Lisa drank about 472 Miller Chills.

Luckily, the next morning the whole house slept in until 9am. Yeah! We woke to rain. What? It's not supposed to rain when we have visitors! It cleared up in the early afternoon and then the fishing began! Beckie and Mike broke out their white trash horseshoes and we started a tournament. We broke off into teams and had fun coming up with our names. Beckie and I were a team. We called ourselves "Big Bad Reds" and/or "Trophy Wives." Mike and Dan were team "Brokeback." Tommy and Julia were team "Bickersons" and Lisa and Ben were the "*-off Darlings." In the end, (no pun intended,) Team Brokeback were the victors!

On Sunday, the weather was great and after some fishing, where Beckie Hund caught her first fish ever, and Lisa Darling (aka the Queen of whore Lake) taught us all how to yell "Fish On!", we headed to the beach. The kids had fun driving the rc boat around the swimming area. Luc loved this part the most and wanted all the turns! We swam, and played some kickball, and then it was time to head on home.

Overall, it was a great weekend and the hockey crew were wonderful guests. I think this will definitely have to become a tradition every summer!
